Where does my Made of Gold piece come from?
Every Made of Gold piece begins its journey deep in the rivers and hills of the West Coast of New Zealand, one of the most remote and ecologically rich regions in the country.
The gold is recovered by small local teams using ecological, small-scale mining methods. Alluvial gold, carried by rivers over thousands of years, is carefully extracted, then refined on the West Coast to over 99.6% purity. No large-scale operations. No overseas processing.
The silver begins in the same rivers. Alluvial gold naturally contains a small silver content, around 3%, which is carefully separated during refining. We supplement this with recycled metals from pre-loved jewellery, giving existing materials a new life.
The pounamu is sourced from the West Coast rivers and mountains — the only place in New Zealand where greenstone is found. Each stone carries the history of the land it came from.
The design is the work of West Coast artist Holly Schröder, whose collections are inspired by the maunga, ngahere and wai that surround us. Each piece is named for a specific place on the Coast.
The making happens at Landau in Christchurch — skilled New Zealand jewellers who have spent years perfecting their craft.
From the pan to your hand — every step of the journey happens in Aotearoa.
Each piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity tracing its provenance from source to you.
How long will it take to receive my jewellery?
You will receive your jewellery within 3 weeks. We want to keep surplus stock to a minimum as we are starting our business to ensure we price our items competitively.
Will my piece look exactly like the one pictured?
As our materials are derived from nature, slight variations in colour and texture are normal. Your piece may differ slightly from images shown online or pieces seen in-store.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we can ship worldwide. International orders are sent via tracked courier and delivery times vary by destination. We will liaise with you personally after your order confirmation to confirm your shipping process.
Please note that as a high-value precious goods shipment, your order may be subject to import duties, taxes, and customs fees on arrival in your country. These charges are the responsibility of the recipient and are not included in our shipping costs. We recommend checking your country's import thresholds before ordering - the Customs Info Duty Calculator is a useful starting point.

What is the return policy?
We want to make choosing a meaningful gift for yourself or a loved one as easy as possible. That’s why if your gift isn’t quite right, or you need to return an item to us, we’ll cover the cost of return shipping within New Zealand.
Please contact us within 10 working days of receipt of your order providing the reason for returning the item. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. Damaged, soiled, or altered items will not be accepted and will be returned to the customer.
All taxes, duties and customs charges incurred on deliveries outside New Zealand will be your responsibility. Gift cards are exempt from being returned.
